PawnX Ventures ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Quran Journey for Woman mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use certain features, we may collect:

Account information: Name and email address when you sign in with Apple or Google.
User-generated content: Bookmarks, highlights, notes, and reflections you create within the App.
Preferences: Your reading settings, selected translation, reciter, theme, and life stage selection.
Wellness data: If you choose to use the optional cycle tracking feature, cycle dates you enter are stored locally on your device and, if you are signed in, encrypted in your private cloud sync account.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically:

Device information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
Usage data: Features used, reading progress, session duration, and interaction patterns.
Location data: Approximate or precise location (only when you grant permission) for prayer time calculations and Qibla direction. Location data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers.
Advertising data: Ad interaction data collected by Google AdMob for users on the free tier. See Section 4 for details.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect financial or payment information. All purchases are processed securely by Apple (App Store) and managed through RevenueCat.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We do not read or access the content of your personal notes or reflections for any purpose other than cloud sync.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
Sync your bookmarks, notes, highlights, preferences, and reading progress across your devices.
Calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction based on your location.
Deliver mood-based verse recommendations and life-stage-specific content.
Process premium subscriptions and restore purchases.
Display relevant advertisements to free-tier users.
Analyze usage trends to improve app performance and user experience.
Send optional notifications such as prayer time reminders and daily verse reminders (only if you enable them).

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

Most of your data (bookmarks, notes, highlights, reading progress, cycle data, and preferences) is stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage. The App is fully functional offline.

3.2 Cloud Sync

If you sign in with Apple or Google, your data is synced to Google Firebase Cloud Firestore. Your data is stored in a private document accessible only by your authenticated account. We use Firebase security rules to ensure no other user can access your data.

3.3 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) for all network communications.
Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in.
Firestore security rules restricting data access to the authenticated user only.
No server-side access to your personal notes or reflections.

5. Advertising

The free tier of the App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data for personalized advertising, including device identifiers and usage data, in accordance with Google's privacy policy.

You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings:

iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalized Ads.
Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements, and no ad-related data is collected for premium users.

  Prayer Time Ad Blocking: As a mark of respect, advertisements are automatically paused during prayer time windows for all users.

6. Cycle Tracking Data

The optional cycle tracking feature allows you to log cycle dates to receive adjusted prayer reminders in accordance with Islamic practice. This data is:

Stored locally on your device by default.
Synced to your private Firebase account only if you are signed in.
Never shared with third parties, advertisers, or analytics services.
Never used for advertising purposes.
Deletable at any time by clearing your data in the App settings or deleting your account.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data and account.
Portability: Export your data (available to premium users via CSV export).
Withdraw consent: Revoke permissions such as location access or notifications at any time through your device settings.
Opt out of tracking: Disable personalized advertising through your device settings.

For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (for optional features like cycle tracking and location) and legitimate interest (for app functionality and improvement). You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

For California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell your personal information.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Local data on your device can be deleted by uninstalling the App or clearing app data in your device settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
